 International Sculpture Symposium at Assens Shipyard, Denmark   re title.com artist opportunities

Assens Arts Council supports art in the Municipality of Assens through its advisory capacity and by organising events and activities such as symposium projects, initiatives for art in the public sphere and workshops.

Assens Arts Council consists of three professional artists, an architect, one associate has an art professional background, the head of culture for the Municipality of Assens, and a secretary.

Discipline: Iron sculptureNumber of participants: 6 iron sculptors (2 Danish and 4 international artists)Location: Assens Shipyard Drafts/sketches: Applicants are requested to include sketches of their planned works, including approximate measurements.Tools: Applicants must include a list of the tools they will require for their project.Materials: Materials will be supplied by Assens Shipyard to a maximum value of DKK 10,000 (incl. VAT) equating to approx. 1000 kg iron per participant.

NB: There is a wide variety of materials available at Assens Shipyard.Scrap iron will be freely available.Practical qualifications: In principle, all artists will be expected to be capable of working unassisted. Other limited assistance of a practical nature will offered. Assistants: To a limited degree, qualified assistants will be on hand to support the artists with their work.
